The Least Sandpiper is a rare migrant and wintering bird on campus from November through March, dependent upon the availability of shallow, ponded water in the basins around Badger Hill. It is a common migrant and winter visitor throughout southern California.

High Count: 19, Average Count: 5-10

The Least Sandpiper can be identified by its small black bill, brown head, breast, and upperparts, white belly, and yellowish legs.
