Internships are available for students from CSUSB, Chaffey College, and Victor Valley College to work on projects related to ecological restoration with the U.S. Forest Service, U.C. Riverside, or the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden
Two or three 400-hour, $4,200 internships will be available each year working under the supervision of San Bernardino National Forest botanists. Interns will work at the Forest's Mountaintop Ecological Restoration Facility in Big Bear Lake propagating native plants and restoring a variety of disturbed sites on the National Forest. Summer and/or Fall internships are available.
Two 200-hour, $2,100 internships will be available each year, working on restoration research at UC Riverside. Preference will be given to students who can work 1-2 full days per week during the winter and early spring months.
Three 400-hour, $4,200 internships will be available each year, working under the supervision of Botanic Garden personnel in plant propagation and container stock management, seed conservation, species documentation, and plant surveys. Internships may be conducted during the spring and/or summer. Students who have received training through one of these Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden internships are encouraged to apply for internships with the Forest Service.
Students enrolled at California State University San Bernardino, Chaffey College, or Victor Valley Community College. Students must be U.S. citizens.
